Protective Glass Detection

ScoutVision sensors for tracking are equipped with automatic protective glass detection.

What is the use case of protective class detection?

The protective glass detection prevents that a sensor is operated without such protection against sputter or dust and thereby suffer damage of the optical window. Reduced accuracy or totally fail is avoided, if someone missed to install the protective glass.

How does the protective glass detection works?

A mechanical element detects the presence of the protective glass. If it’s not plugged in the laser will not emit and no tracking or finding operation is possible. If the protective glass is removed during operation while the laser is on, it will be shut down immediately.

How does the protective glass detection works in reality?
